The Story of Strauss Raw
Strauss Raw didn’t begin as a business.
It began with a Keeshond puppy Strauss, imported two decades ago from a reputable kennel—one that still exists today, producing dogs with the same chronic issues we once faced: skin flare-ups, ear infections, stomach sensitivities. Countless hours and thousands were spent searching for answers—specialists, diagnostics, prescription diets. Nothing worked. The inflammation persisted. The gut never healed.
We were told it was allergies. We were told to manage, not resolve.
But nothing made sense—until everything changed.
Apprehensive, cautious, and desperate for a better way, we transitioned him—slowly and skeptically—to a raw diet. It wasn’t overnight. But within a year, it was undeniable.
He flourished.
Not just better—thriving.
He lived to 19 radiant years—vibrant, pain-free, and full of joy.
That dog taught us the truth: healing comes from within, and food is the beginning.
That lesson became a foundation when our founder stepped into the world of feline competition. With every show, every ribbon, and every cat raised with intent, the standard was set: only the best.
No compromises. The same raw nutrition that saved a beloved dog became the philosophy for raising stunning, healthy, and remarkably youthful cats—with glossy coats, bright eyes, and near-zero vet visits even as they aged.
We quietly began helping others—dog owners at their wits’ end, friends whose cats showed symptoms of over-processed food and generational decline. We watched them transform too.
But as we navigated the industry—raw and otherwise—it became clear:
